Geraldton Senior High School offers an instrumental music program to all students, beginning in Year 7. The program provides students with instrumental lessons and a dedicated music class where they will develop their musicianship and love of music in a specialised and supportive environment. Students build skills in performance, song writing, theory and analysis. Students can continue their instrumental lessons to the end of Year 12 through the PIMS program in the upper years. We aim to equip students with a lifelong love of music, as well as a good understanding of the building blocks of music. There are performance opportunities for students throughout the years, and a number of ensembles that they can join. We have a fantastic community of young musicians and with the help of the instrumental teachers prepare students to play at events, including regular festivals in Perth and further afield.
